FASET Approved Safety Net Rigging, Inspecting and Repair Training…

The Health and Safety Act states that, when working at heights, a fall arrest system should only be used as a last resort if all other measures have been deemed impracticable, safety netting is a practical solution to eliminate the hazard.

Don’t Get Fined!

Worksafe NZ now have over 200 inspectors actively working to stop unsafe practices. There are fines being issued to individuals and companies if a breach of health and safety rules occurs.

Doing nothing towards your own safety and safety of others is no longer an option!

FASET Safety Net Repair course

Safety nets may be repaired by a competent person who has completed a recognised training course* within the past 5 years.

*A recognised training course is a FASET Net Repair Training Certificate

Nets should preferably be repaired in a controlled environment.

This one day course provides knowledge on how to repair knotless safety nets in line with FASET guidance.

For many years this has been the domain of manufacturers where similar yet different techniques made it difficult for net owners to identify one approved method to repair their own nets.

Manufacturers' training has focussed on the method of repair and not dealt with wider issues such as net examination, types and causes of damage, fleet management and record keeping.

The FASET course addresses these topics.

FASET have agreed with all manufacturers operating in UK on one standard repair. This is exactly what we teach you in New Zealand.

IMPORTANT: This course is NOT designed for Safety Net Riggers to carry out repairs on site.

The safety net repair course also covers:

  • Legislation & standards
  • Parts of a safety net and the way it works
  • Typical causes & results of damage
  • Tagging and logging in line with standards
  • Assessment and feedback

After course completion candidates will be able to:

Understand how safety nets work and their typical applications. They will be able to put together and operate a net maintenance programme, identify damage and carry out permanent repairs correctly.

The Candidates are provided with:

FASET Reference Notes, 5 year Attendance Certificate & FASET Registration.
